Decadent Hot Chocolate
Keep warm this winter with this cheeky treat topped with dinosaur teeth!
As the weather gets cooler in London, hot chocolate is my go to treat to warm me up. I love it. I would have it everyday if I could. This recipe is super easy, but is very decadent and really only intended as a treat, not a nightly drink.
If dairy isn't your thing you can swap out the milk for your favorite plank based drink and dairy free chocolate (and no cream). I can't promise it will be as good, but it should still warm you up and make you happy.
2 mugs of preferred milk
150g of dark chocolate
sugar to taste (optional)
Whipped cream or cheat with squirty cream
Marshmallows - we cut ours into teeth (triangles)
Chunks of flake
Biscuits for dunking (images show our dinosaur footprint biscuits, find them here)
Prepare the toppings:
Cut your marshmallows in half long ways, then cut into long triangles to make teeth
Break the flake into chunks and crumble some smaller pieces.
Chop chocolate into small pieces and place into a microwavable dish.
Slowly heat milk in a pan over a low heat, being careful not to boil.
Microwave the chocolate in 30 second intervals stirring between each until melted.
When the milk is forming little bubbles pour in the melted chocolate, mix vigorously with a whisk.
Add sugar to taste if preferred
Pour into mugs.
Top generously with cream, sprinkles, chunks of flake and of course dinosaur teeth.
I wont lie, this is pretty filthy and probably about 10,000 calories, but you know what, it's worth it!
What's your favourite hot drink?
